Kibbutz TalesĀ
The idea behind Billy Randell and the Kibbutz Tales was to create a volunteer’s volunteer, someone to whom all of those remembered stories could happen. It was meant as a irreverent tribute to us all, the 350,000 men and women, boys and girls who gave up their time between 1967 and 2000, to travel to Israel and play their part in building that country, or in some cases knocking it down (you know who you are… lol). We should all be proud of our contribution. I hear plenty of volunteers, myself among them, who freely acknowledge the debt they owe to the Kibbutz or Moshav, for making them into the individual they became, but we sometime lose sight of the debt the Kibbutzim and Moshavim and the wider State of Israel owes us for our work as ambassadors for the country.
